Irish Language Immersion weekend in Butte 2020
We will be having an Irish language immersion course in Butte, Montana from 6:30 PM April 3, 2020 through 12:00 PM April 5, 2020 . This event will be held at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives, 17 W Quartz Street in Uptown Butte.
Classes: adults only
The classes are taught by Irish Language teachers currently and formerly at the University of Montana. This year, the teachers are:
Cecily Ní Lionnsigh, Fulbright teacher at the University of Montana 2019-2020
Ellen Corbett, Fulbright teacher at the University of Montana 2019-2020
Ciara Ní Riain, former Fulbright teacher at the University of Montana
Ellen Ní Chaoimh, UCC/UM Law Exchange Student and Irish Teacher
This year, there will be 4 levels:
Beginning / Low Intermediate– Instruction and explanations in English, learn basics, practice speaking
Intermediate– Instructions in Irish and English, conversation, prepositional pronouns, verbs, reading
High Intermediate – Instruction and explanations in Irish, with clarification in English if needed, conversation and advanced grammar, listening comprehension, reading
Advanced– Instruction and explanations in Irish, mostly full group conversation and discussions, listening, reading
Cost:
The cost for this event will be:
$85.00 for MGCS Members
$100 for non-members (includes MGCS Individual Membership, $110 for family Membership).

Travel:
Flights into Butte are available on Delta Airlines with airport pickup provided by volunteers. A car is not needed while here, because everything can be within walking distance and we will carpool for extra events. See attached information for lodging details. Rides to and from the airport will be provided.
This event is always a lot of fun and focuses on conversation and learning in a stress-free environment.

9-11:30AM Class
***NOTE: The teaching fees for this course were obtained by a grant and are funded by the Irish Fulbright program. The extra teachers are teaching for FREE.
